Within this section of my portfolio, the reader will be provided with all three of my film analyses. I will be analysing the films Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin, Ill Manors by Ben Drew and Connections by Steve Oram and Nick Lear. I chose to analyse Modern Times because Chaplin's films generally have a varying audience in terms of classes and I want my film to appeal to a large audience, from teenagers to a more film literate audience. In addition, I wanted to mix two completely different film genres to create something different to add to the film industry. Ill Manors because it relates to the "gangster" content of my film as well as the fact that the characters within the film sell drugs and finally Connections because like my film, it is a modern take on a black and white silent comedy.
Below are clips of Modern Times and Connections. Ill Manors unfortunately isn't available on youtube.
